Earlier Settlers

Marion Township was made the home of the whilte man in 1838. Among those early comers were,  Joseph, Uriah, and Samuel Rooks of Indiana, and John and Joab Holloway, all of whom settled in the twonship in 1838. Robert Ishamel was also one of the early arrivals in that year.
