Peter immigrated with his parents in 1635 aboard the "Elizabeth". They settled in Roxbury, MA. After his father's death, his mother lived with his family and he then inherited her land in the "Nookes next to Dorchester". Peter was one who subscribed towards the suppoert of Roxbury's Free School.

Peter was a merchant, sometimes exporting  Rhode Island tobacco to England and importing commodities. Peter ended up on courtseveral times due to his business. Once was to collect from the sale of a large shipment of tobacco to England. Andother was against Timothy Proutt for not delivering rum from Barbados. in 1679 he was licensed to sell retail cider.
