  • Note:
In Issac Milton Collins Civil War pension application he just sa his parents died while he was an infant and that he was raised by Joe Rooks, which is what his obituary says. There are a number of affidavits from other Rooks included in his pension application, and they said Isaac/Milton was 'bound out' to Joe Rooks. From language of the other Rooks' affidavits it didn't seem like my Isaac was actually descended from Joseph Rooks, although Isaac Milton Collinsmay have called him 'grandfather'. Also, some of Isaac's kids married into descedants of Joseph Rooks, so unless they married their near cousins, I don't think the families were related.
