L. D. Short was born near Cincinnati, Ohio May 14, 1829 and died Nov. 22, 1904, aged 75 years, 6 months and 7 days.

When about eight years old he left Ohio with his parents, who moved to Vermillion County, Ind. where he grew up to manhood. He was married to Juda A. Pearman Dec. 6th 1850. In 1859 they moved to Illinois. In 1883 they came to Kansas where they have spent the remainder of life, his wife having died in 1895. To them were born eleven children, five of whom are dead and six living.

Mr. Short had been a life long member of the M. E. Church and lived a happy Christian life.

The funeral services occurred Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at the M.E. Church conducted by Rev. Christenbury after which the remains were laid to rest in the Albion cemetery. The relatives have the sympathy of the community in this sad affliction.
