    Notes:

Copied from FindAGrave: "Spouse: Sarah Webber (1711-1774) m. 2 Aug 1732 Boston (She may be the Sarah Webber born at Boston 26 Aug 1713).

Capt William Sherrard was a member of the Charitable Irish Society in Boston 1739. He died at sea from illness, the Tuesday before 22 Aug 1768, aged 57 y. Capt William was delivering goods to Jamaica upon Capt James Dalton's brigantine, the "Polly", and was on his way back to Boston when he fell ill "for a few days" before succumbing to his death. The previous bill of lading was dated 17 Nov 1767, and the testimony by John Roberts was after. ~ Dalton Family Papers [I have a copy of that.]

On 10 Jul 1768, an appeal was made to James Dalton for monies owed to Capt Sherrard, but it was marked "deceased". I think John Roberts testimony of Capt Sherrard's death is out of sequence, I believe this paper may have been an agreement/contract by Capt Sherrard and Capt Dalton before he sailed July/August 1768, Bill of Lading missing.

Mary Sherrard that married Samuel Jenner of Charlestown may be a daughter.

Capt married WEBBER, Sarah on 24 Aug 1732 in Boston, Massachusetts Bay Colony, Colonial America. Sarah (daughter of WEBBER, Capt William and Eliza) was born on 26 Aug 1713 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, Colonial America. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

  1. 6.  WEBBER, Capt WilliamWEBBER, Capt William was born in England; died in 1743 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, Colonial America.

    Other Events and Attributes:

    • Occupation: mariner
    • Will: 27 Sep 1743, Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, Colonial America; Location taken directly from will. In the will he also is listed as a Capt, a mariner. Will located on AmericanAncestors, $.

    Notes:

Once I found his will on AmericanAncestors, he had "wealth" for that day and age. AND he is listed as a Capt, a mariner. So ignore the bondage emigrant Wm Webbers.

It also means that the Wm Webber I've been seeing in research that was a Capt in England is probably the same man.

Capt married Eliza. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
