21 Karl and Bertha had 12 children, 10 boys and 2 girls, 7 lived. This information taken from a letter from Gertrude written in January of 1981. She listed all the names of the seven living children, none of the others.

She also wrote: "Joyce - she's my son's wife - wrote all she could of our ancestors. Only my mother's mother's maiden name was Zimmerman. I do not know what paps mothers maiden name was, and I have no way of finding out as all the older people are gone. I do know of some cousins that are grandchildren of papa's only sister. Caroline Pietsch also one brother, his name was also Trogott Pietsch. There was a quarrel years ago between papa & his brother so I never met him, he also had a large family. They are around Gidding and Winchester TX. If I find out anything I'll try to let you know." After a personel message, she listed all of the information about the children, birth, marriages, etc. This note will be updated with this sentence removed and the entire list typed in.

Burial in Oakland Cemetery, Native of Germany, he came to Texas in 1884 and in 1915 settled in Dallas. For two decades he was employed by the Henry Pollack Trunk Co., retiring four years ago. Correct except the exact location of birth was in Ovelgonne, Prussia was part of the Oldenburg Province.
