    I believe the entries in several records for his given name of Sebastian is due to the writer or transcriber believing that Sebas was an abbreviation. However, Sebas was his given name. He was born at sea while his parents in route to America. Sebas apparently means Sea-Born or Seaborn. Alternative spelling is Sebeas

    Birth: Exact year of birth isn't for certain. However, the arrival date in summer of 1643 for his father, Edward JACKSON is what I believe to be the best date for his birth. Other birth years documented are 1635, 1641, 1642, 1650.
