1601 The birth is listed as 5 June 1641 in the "Brief Genealogy of the Gore Family" by William H. Whitmore, 1875 available on FamilySearch. Listed as 4th child. GORE, Abigail (I538)

1602 The brothers mentioned here were not all living. For example, Carl LIVINGSTON (her older brother) died before my mother married. LIVINGSTON, Buster ✓ (I118)

1603 The California, Voter Registrations, 1900-1968 for 1930 for Powers, Mrs. Edith A is *NOT* our Edith. The entry above is for a Mr. Alton Powers in the same residence. Not related. ~ Removed 10/21/2020.

That is name on Hansman/Madden Intent to Marry notice AND on Marjorie's birth certificate.
POWERS, Anna Edith (I32007027080)

1604 The cemetery has a little stone that says "Infants of Freese" & below that "1894 - 1895". Since all children were born in this city, it is reasonable to believe this little boy was also born & died in Sioux Falls. FREESE, Johann Georg (I212229245998)

1605 The dates on FindaGrave do not match H. Hansman's dates where little Julius is listed as first child. HANSMANN, Julius August Martin (I212216973785)

1606 The David PEARMAN obit has father Eric so he is NOT this David OR they were incorrect. PEARMAN, David (I1470)

1607 The death certificate has her birth in 1958. Records her age as 95. COFFMAN, Rosa Linde (I1269)

1608 The draft record states he was drafted on Nov 23rd, 1864 and failed to report. WILLIAMS, William (I329)

1609 The Edward Jackson Family, p. 40, states he was a yeoman which means he was a free man who owned his farm.

See AmericanAncestors.org Newton 1700 map. Edward Jackson Sr has land VERY prominently on the map (sorta in the center).

JACKSON, Edward Sr (I1189)

1610 The Elizabeth Prather Ellsberry Vol I of Southern Linn Co. MO Cemetery Records, p. 28 (hardcopy) has the following:
HANSMANN: Agnes... then Theordore ... then Harman H. B., then
Anna Dora, April 7, 1879-Oct. 22,1882.
HOWEVER, if this is their daughter he would have been only 16 & Agnes 9.
Possibly daughter of Herman.
------------------
The above page also has a quote from the History of Linn County, 1913, page 290 about T.A. Hansman. Instead of using the page 28, use the "real book" & add this info.
HANSMANN, Theodore August (I32269438326)

1611 The following was downloaded from Ancestry.com (no source):
"Peter immigrated with his parents in 1635 aboard the 'Elizabeth'. They settled in Roxbury, MA. After his father's death, his mother lived with his family and he then inherited her land in the 'Nookes next to Dorchester'. Peter was one who subscribed towards the support [stet] of Roxbury's Free School.

Peter was a merchant, sometimes exporting Rhode Island tobacco to England and importing commodities. Peter ended up on court several times due to his business. Once was to collect from the sale of a large shipment of tobacco to England. And other was against Timothy Proutt for not delivering rum from Barbados. in 1679 he was licensed to sell retail cider.

GARDNER, Peter (I519)

1612 The full location for Brake is one I surmised because Hansmann's were in Lower Saxony, Germany. All H. Hansmann's Genealogy had was Brake, Germ APFEL, Wubke Margarethe (I32007027149)

1613 The Genetic Lincoln provides conclusive DNA evidence into the parentage of Abraham Lincoln. Source (S595)

1614 The gravestone is not easy to read but it *is* readable. The birth date of 21 Mar 1713 as part of the record is not being used; the sources for the 12 Mar 1714 date is believed to be more accurate. GORE, Rebecca (I1450)

1615 The gravestone is very hard to read. The year of birth is clea, 1787. The date is not. His wife, Mary, may be recorded on this stone. Using the SAR date; the application is dated 7 Aug 1964. The date on FindAGrave is 10 Mar 1787. JONES, William (I881)

1616 the great Agriculturist who fired the first gun in the war between the States, at Fort Sumter in 1861

the married in the old Travis House in Williamsburg.
RUFFIN, Edmund III (I1758)

1617 The II added to the name came from H.Hansmann's p. 81 - first page of "Notes from church books and other sources". HANSMANN, Claus II (I212230160924)

1618 The last number of date of death messy. Not sure of the number. HANSMANN, Otto (I212228478670)

1619 The man had at least three marriages, possibly more. And children -- well over 20.

His father died in 1885 when he was just 7 years old when his father died. He was also the last child. I believed he lacked discipline growing up and maybe that is why he was absolutely horrid to Zorada & his children by her. Truly believed that her place was to be barefoot & pregnant. Cruel to Zorada's children until the day they left home. Would not allow any of Zorada's children to go past the 8th grade but all his other children could.
LIVINGSTON, William Carl McCule ✓ (I423)

1620 The marriage record states that she was from Natick, Massachusetts. There is an intent to marriage record in the prior year that was recorded in Natick. They were married in Newton. GALE, Abigail (I249)

1621 The month and day (Sept. 3) are handwritten in the "Brief Genealogy of the Gore Family" by William H. Whitmore, 1875 available on FamilySearch. The year printed in the 7-page book was 1646. Listed as 3rd child. GORE, Obadiah (I513)

1622 The month is difficult to read. GRIMES, Mary Jane (I182)

1623 The name Anton appears only on his father's family tree sheet (H.Hansman's unpublished genealogy). HANSMAN, August Robert Anton (I32007027079)

1624 The North America, Family Histories lists his birth as 30 Jan 1727/28. The Massachusetts Vital Records shows two sons named Samuel born to Samuel Gore and Mary Williams. Samuel born Jan 30, 1727 and another Samuel born Feb. 28, 1732.

GORE, Samuel (I521)

1625 The obit states he died "at midnight last night"; midnight is the first hour of the next day which was 5 Sep 1907. WOODBURY, George Forrest (I212228484669)

1626 The picture associated with this woman was originally posted with the maiden name Hatfield. The tree had no one with the surname Clevenger. She does have her as the spouse of Isaac Thornburg BUT not with maiden name of Clevenger.

The facts listed are not yet verified.
CLEVENGER, Elizabeth Jane "Eliza" (I41)

1627 The poor little boy died of "Chronic tubular nephritis" - kidney failure. Failure occurs over a period of time.

The family story is that his father was despondent after his death (the family lost a little girl within a few years of Arthur's death) and eventually committed suicide. Homer did commit suicide in his home while his wife and older son were at church.
COFFMAN, Arthur Victor ✓ (I656)

1628 The SAR data about Sara and John is no longer accepted as valid by the DAR.

Sarah Chilton: Birth: 1770 in Maryland.
John TRAVIS is my 4th great-grandfather but wives need to be verified. Source: https://wc.rootsweb.com/trees/117534/I24846/-/registry

Chilton was Shelton and more likely her maiden name. BUT I haven't found a father for her. I've found Sarah's but what I've found also having one dying young, the rest married but not to a TRAVIS or anything close to that spelling. THEREFORE I'm removing her maiden name from the tree. 5/17/2020 7:03pm

Both John & Sarah were living when the 1850 census was taken in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. He was 81 and she was 80. She was born in Maryland in 1770. He was born in Virginia in 1769 (based on census). They were living with Isaac Travis.

Sarah (I438)

1629 The source for the 23 Mar 1830 marriage is http://www.kvnet.org/cindy/d0000/g0000043.html#I024 COFFMAN, William Aaron (I757)

1630 The Sources associated on my tree with Richard SMITH are correct. But I have not been able to verify that he is the father of Benjamin SMITH (1755-1792). SMITH, Richard (I203)

1631 The two FAGs cannot be. Only one can be correct. OR the 1870 census has a new wife, Lydia.

I think there were two Samuel Pearmans in the same county and same age.
PEARMAN, Samuel D (I1469)

1632 The two marriage records have different spellings of her given name.

The Land Grant is probably to his SON. In 1782, this Abraham Dale would have been 92 years old.
DALE, Abraham (I624)

1633 The U.S. Revolutionary War Pensioners is NOT this Joseph Cole. It has a notation that Joseph Cole died, 1833. Perhaps his father? Removed from sources. COLE, Joseph ✓ Sr (I401)

1634 The Wales record shows surname as WINCH. WINCHE, Mary (I441)

1635 The will (original) and typed version are for Luke HANKS III. See https://geneticlincoln.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/2-LUKE-HANKS-II-Elizabeth-Dale.pdf

The death date is what confirms this is for Luke III and not Luke II.

HANKS II left his children orphans as shown by apprentice ship records of Abraham HANKS born 1743.
---------------------------

Order Book 7, p 170, June Court, 1717, Richmond, Virginia: "Ordered that the Sheriff summons to next court: Luke Hanks, John Hanks, (and thirteen others) to answer presentment of the Grand Jury ... for not going to church for one-month past."
HANKS, Luke ✓ II (I621)

1636 The will of Isaac M McCOLLUM is not this one; the will was made in 1887.

I have REMOVED the link to Rachel McCOLLUM. I am sure he is not a direct descendent. Once I know that his ancestors are not connected to her, I will remove Isaac, his wife & all their ancestors.

MCCOLLUM, Isaac M Unproven lineage (I1187)

1637 The words "in Stolham" are written in the space between born & died 3-29-1844. I took that to mean the place was for both. FRISIUS, Diederich Ernst (I212228283575)

1638 There *MAY* have been a third marriage, one between PICO and HOLLAND. Surname: ALLEY. There is a marriage in 1806 for a Hannah ALLEY marriage to Thomas HOLLAND in Boston. *BUT* this could be the first marriage for him. GORE, Hannah (I738)

1639 There are multiple Mindwell Kings in colonial America at this time. More research is needed to find additional information about THIS Mindwell and the one in the Pomeroy line. KING, Mindwell ✓ (I376)

1640 There are SO MANY Josephs in this tree. I have carefully searched "The Morse Tree" in North American Family Histories.

Nathan Morse is a verified Revolutionary soldier--see DAR, Ancestor # A081517. A Sons of American Revolution record shows the lineage I have here.

This Ensign Joseph Morse DID exist but so did another Joseph Morse who married Abigal Barnes.

Both of these Josephs supposedly have as parents yet another Joseph Morse & Grace Warren.

I will continue to try to verify who the parents of Nathan Morse are. But PLEASE DO NOT IMPORT THIS LINEAGE STARTING with Enslgn Joseph Morse as **VERIFIED** data.
MORSE, Ensign Joseph (I434)

1641 There are TWO Isaac Thornburg and Thornburgh in the same area. One married a HATFIELD and the other a CLEVENGER.

Need to check both Elizabeth Clevenger & Isaac Thornburgh carefully so that only the correct files are left. 4/26/2022

First the FindAGrave reference that has Eliza married to an Isaac Thornburg (no "h") is NOT the same as my ancestors. He would have married at 3 years of age.
THORNBURGH, Isaac (I42)

1642 There is a Henry Barney "Harry" Smith who lived at the same time in the Boston Massachusetts area. For awhile I thought this was "my" Henry Smith. However, more research has shown that "Harry" is a separate person who was a lawyer in Boston. For more information on that person, see the U.S., School Yearbooks, 1900-1999.

Henry's mother, Hannah MORSE died during his birth or shortly thereafter.
SMITH, Henry ✓ (I361)

1643 There is a Hitty Morse buried in Horse Meadow Cemetery, died 22 Mar 1812. Location: North Haverhill, Grafton County, New Hampshire, USA ~ Source: FindaGrave. MORSE, Hetty (I57)

1644 There is a Nicholas COFFMAN, born about 1770 supposedly in Shenandoah County, VA. Could be Abraham's brother but more likely a son of John Nicholas Coffman. He and his family, including a son named Abraham, migrated to Indiana or Tennessee.

Names of children are from his will.

Henry Pendleton's birth date from 1812 record. John Henry's too.
There is a John Coffman and a Henry Pendleton Coffman listed separately in Abraham's will.

The Jacob Coffman (ignored) has a son Abraham Coffman born in Hardy Co WV.

COFFMAN, Abraham ★ (I1198)

1645 There is a picture of his gravestone on Findagrave. Once I've put it into Ancestry. He can be marked COMPLETE> HANSMANN, Julius August Martin (I212216973785)

1646 There is a record that shows up for him but really applies to John Henry (his brother). If you look on Fold3, there is no 1812 record for Henry Pendleton Coffman.

I have two Henry Pendleton Coffman's on this tree. The error may be with his mother & which "Coffman" she was married to.
COFFMAN, Henry Pendleton (I782)

1647 There is a Theodore R FREESE who also is in Chicago at this time. Often shows up as a Hint (see Ignored). If H.Hansmann's entry is incorrect, then I need to look at each of these. FREESE, Theodore (I212228718766)

1648 There is more info about him in the Genealogies...Wm & Mary which will be added later.

He served in the War of 1812 & was made a prisoner at MJobjack Bay and carried to England, afterward dying in Williamsburg.

TRAVIS, Samuel (I1762)

1649 They were married before their arrival in America. This may be a record by Massachusetts that they were a married couple. MATHER, Elizabeth (I443)

1650 Think she and her husband migrated from England. HARKER, Sarah (I285)
